Modi's 99 Store ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Modi's 99 Store mobile application and website at modi99.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using our app or website you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly:

Name and mobile number — used to create your account and send order updates via WhatsApp.
Delivery address — saved so we can deliver your orders to the right place.
Order history — items you purchase, so you can reorder easily.
Wishlist — products you save for later.

We also collect information automatically:

Location (GPS) — only when you grant permission, to check if your address is within our delivery area (7 km from our store in Titabar, Assam). We do not track your location continuously.
Device information — basic app usage data (app version, device type) for debugging.
App and website activity — the screens and products you view, what you search for, and what you add to your basket or order. This is used for the analytics and advertising measurement described in section 5.

2. How We Use Your Information

Process and deliver your orders.
Send order confirmations and updates via WhatsApp.
Verify your identity using a one-time password (OTP) sent to your WhatsApp number.
Show you relevant products and your past orders.
Improve the app and fix issues.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do share limited information with our analytics and advertising providers so that we can measure and personalise our own offers — this is described in section 5, and you can switch it off.

3. WhatsApp OTP Verification

We use WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) to send one-time passwords for account login and mobile number verification. Your mobile number is shared with Meta for this purpose, subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy. Meta may also receive your number in an encrypted (hashed) form for advertising measurement — see section 5.

4. Location Data

The app requests access to your device's GPS location only to verify that your delivery address falls within our service area. Location data is used only at the time of the request and is not stored or shared with third parties.

5. Analytics and Advertising

We use two analytics providers to understand how our website and app are used, and to measure whether our advertising works:

Google Analytics — records anonymous usage, such as which pages and products were viewed, what was searched for, and where people stop before ordering. This tells us how many people visited and where they dropped off.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — records the same kind of activity, and lets us measure which of our advertisements led to an order.

In our Android app, if you allow it, we also send Meta your mobile number in an encrypted (hashed) form, along with your customer number. Hashing is one-way: the number is scrambled on your own phone before it is sent, and neither we nor Meta can read the original from it. Its only purpose is to let Meta recognise that an order came from a person who saw one of our advertisements, so that we do not waste money advertising to people who have already bought. We do not send your name, email address, date of birth, or gender.

You control this. In the app, open Account → Privacy and turn off Personalised offers. We then stop sharing these details for advertising, and ask Meta and Google to delete the identifiers already associated with you. Basic usage measurement continues, because it does not identify you. Turning it off does not affect your orders, your account, or your WhatsApp order updates in any way.

Our Android app also uses your device's advertising ID — a resettable identifier Google provides for this purpose — for the same measurement and personalisation. You can reset it, or switch off personalised ads entirely, from your phone's Settings → Google → Ads. Turning off Personalised offers in the app stops us using it as well.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard measures to protect your information from unauthorised access. Your account is protected by a password that only you should know — please do not share it.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at modis99store@gmail.com. We will delete your data within 30 days unless required to keep it by law.

8. Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
